What is it about furry animals that steals my heart? I am normally a reserved and quiet person but show me a cute animal and I am a different person. I love going to Petpaloosa and seeing all of the animals that show up. I spent a lot of time on the ground loving on the dogs while talking to their owners. The people were all so friendly and the weather was great. Game Farm was so crowded that people had to park on side streets and walk in.
It is fun to see the variety of pets people bring – cats in strollers, birds on shoulders…. There was a man with a Wallaby in a pouch – I did not even know an average person could keep one for a pet.

The annual event held for animals and their families at Game Farm Park. The organizers were expecting 10,000 people and judging by the crowds, they were right! This is a fun event for family and pets.

Spring Senior Portraits { Auburn Photographer }

Stephanie’s photo session last Sunday was a breeze! She was a natural in front of the camera and this session was one of my quickest in spite of shooting studio and location. She is a Riverside senior who is working on the yearbook staff as a photographer and will be going to school to become a nurse after graduating! I had a hard time choosing my favorite portrait and can’t wait to show them all of the photos from her session!

The season for senior photography is here! It will not be long and the class of 2012 will be graduated and moving on to explore their future. Washington weather has not cooperated for outdoor portraits this spring, but there are creative options to unique senior photos. Auburn has some really great indoor and outdoor locations to shoot senior photo sessions at. The new track and tennis courts at Riverside High School are great backdrops for the senior who is active in sports!

Easter Portrait { Auburn Photographer }

Spring is upon us and Easter is just around the corner! Does your family celebrate? Have you ever taken family Easter photos or had them professionally done? In my childhood my mom dressed my sisters and I in matching dresses complete with hat and gloves. Those photos are fun to look back on. I try to take at least a few Easter candids every year, and sometimes do a whole shoot with our rabbit and the kids.

First Day of Spring { Auburn Photographer }

The calendar says today is the first day of spring. However, the weather has been snow and hail mixed for most of the afternoon so I do not believe it is going to feel like spring anytime soon! I thought growing up in Washington had made me immune to the gloom that our wet winters bring to people who move here but this winter I am feeling the cold and wet! I am ready for some sun and brightness! If the weather won’t cooperate then I will create it myself!
